Anand Chulani is not a doctor so how is he getting rooms full of people from high-powered CEOs to troubled teens to be stress-free and healthy? Through LOL – Laugh Out Loud – World, his unique method for getting audiences to unwind and relax.

“In these crazy times when there’s so much uncertainty we are giving people tools that they can use to be emotionally fit and psychologically strong to handle the challenges which are coming their way,” he says. “It’s more than laughter yoga for people come away with tools to relieve stress, defuse anger and improve relationships.”

Chulani has one goal in life – to make you laugh, relax and let the burdens drop from your shoulders. Starting out as a traditional stand up comic, he has come full circle to letting the laughter ricochet back to the viewers, where each person becomes a part of the act and lets go of stress with the sheer joy of laughter. He’s even appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show and made her laugh!

Born in a business family and having lived in the UK, Hong Kong and India, Chulani graduated from Georgetown University with double honors in History and English, but also did theater. He’s trained in comedy improvisation at Groundlings and Second City whose alumni include Tina Fey, Will Ferrell and Bill Murray, and he’s also  opened for Arsenio Hall, Russell Peters and Martin Laurence besides acting  in ‘ER’ and ‘War Stories’. He’s written for American sitcom shows, including sketches for The Simpsons.

After being Anthony Robbins’ senior writer for almost three years, Chulani combined his experience as a life coach and comedian to empower people through laughter. “Laughter is not about me – it’s about we,” he likes to say. “It connects us in an instant, getting people out of fear and into a place of faith, faith in themselves, faith in their talents.”

After workshops on both coasts, Chulani is heading to countries from Vietnam, to  the Ukraine. So it looks like laughter is in demand?

“Absolutely!” says Chulani who recently conducted  a workshop for a hundred policemen and hostage negotiators in Las Vegas. “You can transform life by harnessing the power of laughter.”
