Who doesn’t love chocolate? Chocoholics turned up in droves for the New York Chocolate Show which took place on the waterfront at Pier 94. This 55000 sq feet area was changed into a sinfully rich chocolate universe with unending tastings from 65 brands of chocolates, demonstrations by pastry chefs and chocolatiers including famous names like Knipschildt Chocolatier, Valrhona, Jacque Torres and Francoise Payard.

Nor are chocolates just for eating: at the Chocolate Spa, you could try beauty products such as creams and lotions infused with chocolate, which is such a feel good ingredient. A highlight of the show was the Chocolate Fashion Show where noted fashion designers like Narciso Rodriguez teamed up with pastry chefs from top restaurants like Butter and Brasserie 8 ½ to create amazing couture styled totally out of chocolate. As the striking models walked the runway in their delicious chocolate fashions, they looked almost good enough to eat!

Yes, all the outfits were edible, made of chocolate and other ingredients such as corn syrup. The chocolate show was in New York in November 2008 – the 2009 show didn’t have such elaborate costumes or a fashion show. The chocolate couture was put together by chocolatiers and pastry chefs and they are savvy about maintaining the shape in varied temperatures. Occasionally a few chocolate chunks fell off!

So is the outfit made out of chocolate? So it had to be in a very cold climate for the dress to not melt from her body heat. Where was this?
