    The Single Desi Blog

Tis the Season to be Merry…

    Hey All-

Those of you who know me know that I cherish my freedom and value my independence.  While writing this blog, I hope to give people encouragement and gratitude that they are single and letting life unravel and find out what is yet to come.

The holidays can be dreaded by some women, but it can also be a time where you can cherish yourself and here is why:

    1. Ho-Hum Holiday Parties:  Who likes to go to a Significant Others work function?  Well guess what: since you are single, you no longer have to worry about getting invited to a party you will be bored at.  I mean there are enough parties and events to go to with your own friends, why add strangers in the mix,  right?

    2. Family Tug-of-War: You don’t have to worry about whose house and whose family you will spend the holidays with.  For Thanksgiving it will be your family and friends and for Christmas it will be your family and friends.

    3. NO need to cook.  As a single woman, it is hard to cook for one and going out to eat can be pricey and unhealthy.  I usually get boxed foods and salads from Trader Joes and for Beverage choice, well I stick to water – but you can do whatever you want. Enjoy!

    4. Cuts down holiday shopping:  Well guess what….you have a cushy job and you like to look great, why don’t you buy that extra present for yourself…think of all the money you are saving from not shopping for the in-laws you don’t have!

    5. Movie Paradiso: Ooh…you can watch all the cheesy holiday movies on the Hallmark Channel starring Alan Thicke, Candace Cameron Bure, Kelly Martin, Cameron Mathison, Nicolette Sheridan and Patrick Muldoon (to name a few)…our 80’s favorites….at least they were mine on this side of the world…..

    6. Freedom to Date: You can date whomever you want, whenever you want.  No commitment; no attachment…just a free spirit…can you handle that?

    7. Juke Box All Night: You can listen to Taylor Swift’s “I knew you were Trouble” and old school Mariah Carey  hits like “Someday” on repeat without being judged and being told to turn that noise off (Kind of like what I am doing right now, while I write this blog).

    8. Girls Night Out: You can go out with the girls and travel to different places without feeling like your schedules don’t coincide.

    xoxo
