Celebrating Strong Women – and the Men who Support Them

[dropcap]O[/dropcap]n International Women’s Day, we share this wonderful inspiring video from Oscar winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy which shows that men can be women’s best friends and strongest allies.  It is with  such simple,  quiet stories of courage where people do what’s right, where men and women encourage each other and share the traumas of the world that a viable way of life, a decent society can emerge.

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy on a Marriage from Swat, Pakistan

Writes Obaid-Chinoy, In celebration of International Women’s Day, we share the story of a marriage from Swat, Pakistan:

Gul-E-Khandana is not only a hero in her society, she is a social activist, mother, wife and friend.
She attributes her success to her biggest support, her husband; a gentleman who encourages his wife to seek her highest potential.

Today, let us not only celebrate the power of women, but also; those men who champion their wives, daughters, mothers, sisters & friends and are working towards establishing a just society for women.
