Faces of India – Past, Present, Anchor, Touchstone…

[dropcap]N[/dropcap]o matter which part of the world Indian immigrants live in, they each carry with them their special memories of India filed away in their heads and hearts. For these diasporic Indians, many now with hyphenated identities, India continues to be anchor and touchstone. There is a feeling of ‘apnapan’ in being a part of India, and India being a part of their emotional DNA.

Here in tribute to India are images which  capture the essence, the sheer beauty of  India, its many varied states. Yes, a lifetime is not enough to see the whole of India, a universe of surprises.

In this occasional photo feature, we share the startling beauty of different parts of India.

A great memory to have TD – it was something we all looked forward to!
The fun part for us was that we didn’t go to the parade, the parade came to us!
We lived in Connaught Place and the parade passed from below our house!!

Truly stunning. The first picture took me back to my childhood in Delhi where we would see the parade in that majestic space!

I agree – with India, there are so many that selection becomes the hard part.
