“Educate a Child – and Change a Life’

A mobile ‘Chalta Phirta’ school, computer learning in the slums, performance arts and sports are just some of the innovative ways education is being brought to the underserved children in the urban slums and in rural India, by Children’s Hope India.
So what better theme for this year’s gala than ‘Educate India!’?

The CHI ‘Educate India!’ Gala on October 11, 2015 will bring awareness of the great need to impart basic education to the many children who have never been to school or are in failing schools. The 2015 Gala at Pier Sixty in Chelsea Piers in Manhattan will raise funds for mobile schools, computer terminals in the slums, scholarships and improved learning and infrastructure in struggling schools. “Educate a Child – and Change a Life’ is the theme of the evening.

The Master of Ceremonies of this wonderful, inspirational evening is Tinku Jain, philanthropist and media personality. A highlight of the evening will be the live auction of an educational wish list by Rahul Kadakia, International Head of Jewelry at Christie’s. This star auctioneer will be looking for the highest bidder not for diamonds or rubies but for education for India’s most needy and struggling students.
Not to be missed is the silent auction of donated luxury items including a priceless four night stay for six in the private residence of the Bulgari family in the wine country of Tuscany, with meals cooked by their personal chef in the outdoor garden. Other great items include a chemical alteration artwork by the iconic F.N. Souza and air tickets to India on Air India. All proceeds will benefit the Educate India projects.
The evening includes cocktails, dinner, entertainment and dancing. There is also a stunning dance performance by the acclaimed Aatma Performing Arts which has taken its show Mystic India to many parts of the world, celebrating Indian dance and music.
