At the Pierre Hotel, Summer Drinks at the Two E Bar

Summer is here  and it’s a great time to indulge in the beauty of Central Park or just window shop in the dream stores down Fifth Avenue. There’s also a delightful place, a hidden gem, to sit down and rest your tired feet, chat with friends and grab a drink. The place is the Two E Bar and lounge at The Pierre, a Taj Hotel. Few people know of this intimate spot in the city where you can enjoy cocktails away from the madding crowd. Now every Tuesday you get to hear live Jazz and drink cocktails inspired by the hit TV series Mad Men.

Can’t get to the Pierre? Here’s a favored drink of the Mad Men crowd to try out at home.

    o   Lemon Juice – 0.25 oz
    o   Lime Juice – 0.25 oz
    o   Heavy Cream – 0.5 oz
o   Egg White – 1 whole egg white
    o   Orange Flower Water – 1 barspoon
    o   Sparkling Water – dash

Meanwhile Two E Bar is offering more cool stuff for the upcoming hot days:

    Summer Solstice – Tuesday, June 19th, 2012 – 6:30pm-9:30pm – Barrel Aged Cocktails

Two E Bar/Lounge will sample classic cocktails before and after aging in oak barrels, to compare the various flavors that are enhanced by the oak.

    Autumn Equinox – Tuesday, September 25th, 2012 – 6:30pm-9:30pm – 82 Years of Classics

Two E Bar/Lounge will re-create classic cocktails served at the historic Pierre Hotel over the last 82 years.  Recipes will be pulled from the archives of Debutante Balls, elegant State Dinners and classics served in the common areas.

Yes, the Pierre being a part of the Taj Group, some spicy Indian touches are bound to be there. There’s home made garam masala along with the gin, rum, contreau, creme de Yvette and pineapple juice in the Pierre-Tini.

Then there’s An Indian in Mexico, a drink which has pomegranate juice and curry leaf in it along with Patron Silver, Malibu, freshly squeezed lime jouce and Simply Syrup.

    Drink up!
