A chance to Meet Iconic Actor Kamal Haasan

You know you want to see him!

Kamal Haasan, the enigmatic actor and director, is coming to New York City and you have a chance to meet him and share his thoughts and ideas.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art invites you an informal talk with one of India’s best-loved actors and directors.

Kamal Haasan will discuss a variety of topics about his work and interests in India, skills development, freedom of speech and globalization of cinema.

    ABOUT KAMAL HAASAN:

Mr. Haasan is a writer, director, actor, dancer and winner of the Padma Shree & Padma Bhushan, among India’s top civilian awards. He is famous for calling himself a “reluctant actor” despite having worked in more than 200 films. He is also a prolific writer of fiction and nonfiction in Tamil and his published work is testament to his constant exploration of structure and form.

He has never hesitated to state his opinions and encourage debate about topics that are socially relevant. He is a rationalist in thought, moderate in opinion and a humanist in philosophy. The need to be socially conscious is seen in the way his fan clubs have revamped themselves into entities that carry out charity and volunteer work.

Please join us for what will certainly be a fun thought-provoking evening. PLEASE RSVP as seating is limited. If you have questions,sree@metmuseum.org
