The Stars Come Out at IIFA – A Photo Gallery

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]e’re all suckers for Bollywood – the stars get us every time! We do owe so much of our happy times, our fun times to those larger-than-life celluloid figures on the silver screen. At best, they change our lives, make us better human beings and make our dreams come true;  and at the very least, they offer us ‘time pass’ in an air-conditioned space, a chance to squeeze our date’s hand and wallow in buttered popcorn, non-stop music and dance and delicious melodrama. Who can resist?

Once in a blue moon, these stars descend to earth and actually come and mingle – somewhat – with the common man, the diehard fan. This happened in the hot month of July, when IIFA came to New York and New Jersey with a whole gaggle of stars from Salman Khan to Katrina Kaif to Alia Bhatt. Yes, the fans underwent long lines, delays and torturous waits to see their Cinematic Gods and Goddesses – but see them they did. If they lost a solid night’s sleep waiting for the stars and then waiting on the long line for Ubers to take them home, they understood they had to do it for the love of Bollywood.

While the detailed post on all that happened at IIFA – the good, the bad, the ugly will follow – here,  for those who avoided the lines and the waits, is a quickie ‘darshan’ of the royalty of Bollywood. From the comfort of your bed!

For those of you who did go to IIFA, please share your experiences in the comment section!
