We’ve followed the story of Malala since she was a little girl – the gunshot wounds she suffered for the sake of getting an education. The world held its breath as she recovered from the trauma and transformed herself into a dedicated education activist rooting for education for all girls.

Seeing her on the cover of Vogue magazine had been surprising but Malala is full of surprises and shows that women don’t have to just this or just that but can embrace many roles and many personas. Now comes the news that Malala has just got married and one is excited for her as she takes on yet another role and challenge in life.

So one hopes she has a very beautiful and fulfilling life and has the spouse who will be supportive and a cheerleader for all her passion for girls’ education. She wrote on Instagram, “Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead.”

Indeed, the world will be rooting for this couple and wishing them success in a happy marriage and bringing education and a better future to many children across the world.
