Meet A. R. Rahman and Check out ‘Jai Ho’

The wonderful A. R. Rahman is coming to New York and you actually have the opportunity to meet him in the flesh, hear him speak and ask him a question or two!

The occasion is the world premiere of Jai Ho, a documentary about the iconic musician and composer. He’s won every award there is including an Oscar, a Grammy and a Golden Globe and has legions of fans around the world. So it’s about time  his work was chronicled. Jai Ho, which is directed by Umesh Aggarwal, is premiering at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York on February 25.

    A. R. Rahman’s Story…

For diehard fans of the soft-spoken celebrity who hardly ever draws notice to himself, here is a chance to see glimpses of his personal and professional life,  get a ringside seat at his concerts via this documentary and also see interviews  with powerhouses like Danny Boyle, Shekhar Kapur, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Mani Ratnam.

After watching the documentary, there’s the delicious experience of seeing Rahman live on stage as he participates in a discussion moderated by Scott Foundas, Chief Film Critic, Variety.  Free tickets for An Evening with A.R. Rahman and screening of Jai Ho are included with Museum admission ($12 adults / $9 seniors and students / $6 children 3–12 / free for Museum members).  Advance reservations are available online at movingimage.us
