With no incomes and little to no government support, the tribes have literally been reduced to living off the land. But they are not forgotten and with your kind support, we want to lend a helping hand to this Masai community.

[dropcap]P[/dropcap]eople know me as Dixon! I have been a safari guide for 5 years. As a guide the COVID-19 situation has drastically affected what I love doing most – welcoming people from around the world and sharing enchanting stories on wildlife and the Masai culture. We help as surveillance teams in our parks, reserves and conservancies. The pandemic has forced us home giving poachers a big advantage.

[dropcap]M[/dropcap]y village is not very far from the Masai Mara National Reserve. For the past 6 years, my favorite part of being a guide is meeting and showing people the diverse wildlife of the Mara. Covid-19 has affected us greatly, both as guides and our wildlife. The guides in the Mara play an important role in protecting wildlife by alerting the rangers and Kenya wildlife service incase there are any problems like poaching, animal harassment or injured animals.

[dropcap]F[/dropcap]or the past 7 years I have been waking up to guide wildlife enthusiasts through the Masai land. Tourism is our backbone. But now, there is no income from visitors to our beautiful land. The COVID-19 situation has affected the wildlife and the Masai families severely. Prayers for everyone’s safety all over the world.
